Choreography: David Parker
Music: Jean-Michel Bossini
7 dancers, 5 musicians, 15 minutes
Dancers and musicians share a fantastic voyage in La Nef des
fous (The Ship of Fools), a wry, poignant work inspired by the
paintings of Heironymus Bosch. In David Parker's alternate cosmogeny,
musicians give birth to dancers, dancers reply with rhythm,
and the conversation develops to a haunting conclusion.
"The musicians sketch choreographic movement. The dancers
respond to them in rhythm. Each one tries in the discipline
of the other with gusto. It's a true melding of the arts."

Choreography: Rae Ballard
12 dancers, 50 minutes
A full-length work about Vincent Van Gogh as seen through the eyes
of his sister-in-law, Johanna, who preserved his paintings and translated
and published his letters after his death. This four-act dance-theatre
piece uses an ensemble of 12 dancers, with an original script created
by Ms. Ballard from Vincent’s letters and Johanna’s
memoirs.
The score includes classical music, traditional Japanese music,
French
folk songs, as well as original transitional music. The production
also uses projections, slides, sets for three different locales
and
canvases of various sizes.
